Welcome to this site! It’s a dream of mine, to share the love I have for crafts. I think “crafting” has a bad rap, when you make something with your very own hands, it’s a joyful thing. Even a project that does not “turn out” will give you the enjoyment of creating it, and if you keep making things, you WILL get better. Skill is acquired by practice. I have always found deep comfort in making things, when life’s hard, and I‘m sad - I begin a new project, and all my troubles fade away.

When you use your talent and skill to make a gift for someone you love, it is a true gift. You can stitch good wishes and love into every inch. I hope you sit at your computer with a cup of coffee, and feel as if you have met a new friend. Please send an email, and let me know what you would like to see on this site. If you saw the Collage Purse segment on HGTV’s show “That’s Clever”, please use that technique to make your own work of art, and I’ll post it in the Reader’s Gallery.

The site is called “RuthfromOmaha” as I am Ruth Ciemnoczolowski, I always go by “Ruth” which became “Ruth from Omaha” for obvious reasons. The site has my name on it, but it really should be called “ManyPeopleFromOmaha” as this site is the product of Ted and Bob from GrangerGroup, masters of all things “Web”, my husband, James Keller, who photographs my work, and tolerates late night craft binges. I married him as he would ALWAYS stop at a Wal-Mart if I lost a knitting needle on a road trip. I can’t forget my son George, who thinks every mother has a sewing studio, is my pin-picker-upper and always brings me cold drinks. Thanks Guys!! This would not have happened without you.
